We still live in an imperfect world that is fixated on power, sex, impulsivity, and pointing fingers at the first sign of anything less than perfect circumstances… Yet, this is not our home, so why play into that way? Choose Jesus’ way of life on earth.
There are too many instances of child predators in church activities, camps, schools, work places, and buildings, even homes. Let us stop turning a blind eye to this depravity thinking we Christians are above it, therefore no need to keep watch. In an effort to “save the building, the institution, or comfort zone” we’ve become accustomed to sweeping things under the rug, making excuses, and casting out the victims while preserving the perpetrators. It must stop. God says stay alert, keep watch, and do not ignore.
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another…. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4
There comes a time when we as believers must take off the blinders and decide to wholeheartedly embrace the only perfect man that’s ever existed, Jesus. Let us not become the comfortable, fickle Christians who subscribe to the thinking that we are superior and don’t need to keep watch for our children, community, homes, and victims.
Earth is not our home. Neither is a building. Keep watch and stand in faith to be Jesus to others until it is your time to go to your real home.
For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven. Hebrews 13:14
