As I stood out in the rain this morning with my dog, Batman, I heard a sacred sound. I payed attention. Even though unseen, Doves cooing are always a reminder that Holy Spirit is present. It’s part of the way God sends out an olive branch to us in mysterious ways.
The dove came back to him in the evening, and in her beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf. Then Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. Genesis 8:11
Doves symbolize peace, unity, love, and God’s gentleness, approval, care, or warning. Ask Holy Spirit for deeper meaning the moment you hear the cooing.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. Matthew 3:16
