Discern: To Distinguish Between Good and Bad; the ability to assess well
This is why it’s so important not to rush into impulsive decisions, stay in groups that just don’t feel right, or repeat the same patterns of behaviors with the same patterns of friends, family, or co-workers that drag you back into actions that are not healthy. The discernment of wrong motives versus right thinking, good behaviors versus evil intentions, or healthy habits versus unhealthy pleasures can be just the right gut feel you need to make a change. Just because you fit into the group, job, circle of friends, or club doesn’t mean it’s good and right for you. Analyze, with the Spirit of Discernment through God’s eyes, where areas are you might be in life that you need to make a change. Prayer, Reading His Word, Talking with Positive Family and Friends, and Listening for Divine’s Voice in the Silence of your Heart all serve to lead you to the true nature of people, places, things, and situations. Stop staying stuck just because it fits. Discern the answers from Holy to free yourself and begin a new life in Divine wonder.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing (seeking out the truth) you may discern (know) the will of God, what is good, acceptable, and perfect.” Romans 12:2
