Bravery

There is always a giving up of one thing to attain another. Freedom at great cost is humbling. Those who gave their life for our freedom should give pause to all of us in thanksgiving, prayer, genuine care, and respect for their commitment.

Their sacrifice meant losing a son or daughter to a parent, grandparent, or their own children. Giving all meant someone else in their military unit got to live another day. Dying in war meant fighting to protect no matter the cost. Each and every one followed through for your well-being and the protection of your family.

To acknowledge, respect, and fully understand that sacrifice on earth, we must embrace the sacrifice that saved us to eternal life. Jesus saves us every day.

Dying to self every day is not easy. The world scoffs at it but celebrates the free world’s evil driven new ideas of burning the flag, chanting death to America, kneeling to protest, and hate for one race or another as their right to disrespect the ones who died to protect against it. The ones who died to protect your rights did not deserve to die for this behavior. Think again on what is true.

Jesus did not deserve to die a drawn-out torturous death, but it happened that way. He did not call the angels down to save Him from the evil ordeal. He did what he had to do for you and me. This is the true meaning of bravery.

I thank Jesus every day for loving me that much. I ask for Holy Help every day to die to self.

Is it time to re-evaluate life. Are you self driven or respect driven?  It is time to be brave.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7
