Rough days seem to pile up on us until the dam breaks us into a million pieces. My day yesterday was that kind of accumulation. Numerous doctor appointments, unexpected hospital tests, driving all over town, and non-stop coughing…… Yet, within all of that Jesus was there. He placed in my heart to remember and proceeded to lead me to a blessing.
As I drove near the place mom and I would always meet to celebrate our birthdays there was a quickening in my spirit. Jesus said ‘ pull in’. Sitting at the table in Strossner’s Bakery remembering my good times with mom, I did not feel alone. In her quiet demeanor with a sprinkle of nurse ratchet, she blessed me with her faithfulness.
Jesus was there amid the blessings of remembrance as tears rimmed my eyes with a longing for something good to come of this hard medical day. This was it! What a beautiful reminder that Jesus is always faithful with blessings. Seek them, keep watch, be amazed. Invite others to Jesus.
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14:13-14
While I started the day feeling crippled and lame, Jesus blessed me with a place at His table.
Remember that you are always welcome at and are never alone at Jesus’ table even if no other’s are around. Holy seeks to bless us amid our struggles and hardships. Holy is faithful. Are you faithful to Holy?
