I stood on the deck in the early hours of this morning as the cool breeze swept across my face and thanked God to be alive. As the hawks piercing sounds resonated through the forest I closed my eyes and listened with the thought quickened in my spirit that it’s good to be alive in Jesus name. Holy is our sustainer in the brokenness of each of our little world’s on the earth.
As I opened my eyes to gaze upon the young crows playing in a far away mud puddle something else caught my eye. A tiny baby frog was desperately swimming in the pool back and forth near the edge, but, of course, no where near the lily pads placed to save any creatures who get in there by mistake. I rushed down the stairs, scooped it up out of the water and placed it on the concrete near the flowers. It was tired and stunned, but fully alive and finally hopped away. I said a prayer of thankfulness as I marveled over the fickle nature of life. It is good to be alive.
You see, I had just buried a baby rabbit the week before from this similar scenario only it lived through the day after I cleared its lungs from water, dried it, and wrapped it in a blanket against my chest all day. It tried hard to live, but the chlorine was too much for its little life to handle. We are not guaranteed another day of life. Only God is in control.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25
I heard in my spirit that Life can be brutal but we must still take care of God’s creation and each other in Jesus name. It is good to be alive and awakened to the Holy Spirit in this world of death, destruction, disease, disaster, and disappointments. Awaken your spirit to the Holy Spirit, TODAY!
Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:14
