When fear paralyzes you, ask God for courage. Wait on His timing for it. If all you want to do is flee, ask God to quiet your mind and help you stay the course. Seek silence, solitude, and Holy signs. As anger overtakes you, sadness is not far behind. Ask God to take the fight out of your heart, the hurt out of your spirit, and the physical illness out of your body. But, always be prepared for God to tell you that today is the day you must stand up for what is right. Disappointments have a way of draining the life right out of us to the point of just giving up. Ask God for the strength to keep going in His direction, not your own, and for rest in your spirit to recover, then continue on.
You can ask God for anything. You may have to ask Him all of these things in the span of just a day. Then repeat it the next day, and the next… You also must have patience. Be committed to waiting on His timing. Sometimes, we have to be prepared for the long haul because life, healing, and God’s divine intervention is a process. Many times, it takes longer than we want.
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18
