What a powerful image! As children we didn’t really realize how our parents, grandparents, guardians, social workers, animals, family, and/or friends protected us against the evils of the real world. They were our earthly angels. As well, as children of God (no matter our age), His angel armies place a shield of protection around us night and day. In these tumultuous times we live in let’s never forget that no matter what goes on around us that we can actually see there is so much more going on in the spiritual realm we don’t see. Pray without ceasing. Angels are ’round us. I am thankful for those we see, as in mother’s who sacrifice to do the right thing by their children, dad’s who rise to the needs of their children, the friends who show up when we’re in need, those who lend a helping hand or make a phone call to check on you, wrap a coat around a homeless person in winter, or seek out the drug addict whose cries for help have landed on deaf ears after years of continuous relapses. There are angels in animal rescues, church prayer groups, neighborhoods, and horse communities. I am thankful, as well, for those unseen angel armies that shield, protect, and help me untiringly when I don’t even know it.
Think about it. You, as a believer, are well protected. Who needs You to be their Angel today?
